Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway has issued cease-and-desist letters to six of the leading prediction market operators offering sports event contracts to Missourians, and says she already expects her enforcement action to be challenged. The Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana has become the first tribal nation to enter the prediction markets sector, through a partnership with Kalshi.

The National Council on Problem Gambling reiterated that it is neutral on the legality of prediction markets after members quit over a US$2m donation from Kalshi, and its board president spoke publicly in defence of the relationship. Kalshi and the State of Montana jointly agreed to dismiss their federal lawsuits against each other, and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission issued an advisory on the listing and trading of mention market event contracts.

Malta's flat 5 per cent gaming tax on revenue generated from players located in Malta will be replaced by a tiered structure on 1 October, with casino games taxed at 15 per cent and betting products at 10 per cent.
